Description:
New Marathon PR by 18 minutes! Absolutely beautiful day for the race. This time was a lot more organized than in 2007.
I was a little worried about the race; I was horribly sick the night before and just before we left. Dan suggested I should not do it. I told him I was going to do it no matter what and "go get me medicine" Luckily everything worked itself out by the start, tho I was probably more dehydrated than I should have been.
The corrals and the wave start worked out well. My goal was to keep up with the 4:15 pace group as long as I could, which I did comfortably until someone stepped on her foot and injured her. I kept up a pretty good pace and felt strong until mile 15 where I felt very dehydrated and starving for carbs. I don`t think I had enough carb stores in me before the race and I felt it by that point and beyond. I muddled through but by 20 I was starving and dreaming about fruit, rice and sugary candy. I tried eating everything people were handing out on the course. My paced slowed, but still I knew it was a PR and somehow that kept me running until the end.
Overall really great course, super crowd support and I had a great time.

Description:
Good race, great to see old friends. I was hoping for a
faster sub 0:50 time, but just couldn`t keep up the pace. I hate excuses but here they are anyway: I do think my legs are still a little tired from Thursday`s 20miler and my blood sugar fell a bit after mile 4. I still have not gotten my nutrition right for this size race, longer races are so much easier to plan for. oh well, still a PR!

Description:
A little PR! I wasn`t even going out for one today. It was a fun run, I wore Devil horns and Dan wore his wrestling masks. Lots of people dressed up with bananas being particularly popular.
The race was a little disorganized especially at the start. They had us facing the wrong way for a bit, walking us up and down the street and we didn`t know where the front of the line was. We heard a few complaints from the crowd about this.
The first mile was incredible crowded, bananas, bees, and bears everywhere. It eventually thinned out in the 2nd mile so I could get some speed in then until the end, though I feel I could have pushed much harder for a faster pace overall.

New PR and my first sub-2:00 half! I felt really great & strong throughout Nice course, though sometimes I couldn`t remember if I was in Providence; Hartford looks so similar. Happily it didn`t rain, but was pretty humid in the beginning.
It was fairly crowded going out and despite lining up at the proper place, I got caught behind the crowd for the 1st few miles & then again some points around miles 7-8. I kinda felt mad (and I feel bad I was a little mad) that it slowed me down especially in that 1st mile. I felt like I had to constantly make up for those extra seconds; I really wanted that sub-9:00 pace. Anyway, all went well and I`m still very happy with the race and my new PR.
